It's always quite an occasion whenever one of Aritomo's limited edition Japanese private press records arrives. Our phone becomes the Aritomo hotline and folks are falling over themselves to grab a copy before they quickly sell out. So here this unique artist has a three track 10" EP and it's quite different from previous works. It's far less stripped back yet still retains the intimacy. 'Frog Shouldering The Town' is more upbeat than usual and has overdubbed vocals. What's really nice is how the music drums up a magical feeling that transcends the language barrier. There are some backwards effects and percussion that all create something very psychedelic indeed. 'Nuevo Mundo' is more acid tinged folk with dreamy vocal and strange guitar sounds that evoke a mystical almost spiritual feeling.The cover has a beautiful painting on the front and lovely drawings on the back. All by this multi talented and unique artist who does all vocals, cuatro guitar, electric guitar, quena, bass and percussion. This really sounds like no one else. Highly recommended!

I recorded this EP at my homemade studio and another place in 2008 to 2010. I went to Iizuna Oasis in last year. Iizuna oasis is the guesthouse of Fumio Miyashita (1949~2003). He was a healing musician. I met his wife. She manages here now. She lent Fumio's instruments of gamelan to me. And I recorded those instruments by my tape recorder. The experience in the guesthouse was very calm and wonderful. There is a Jinja in the neighborhood. The Jinja is Togakushi Jinja. It is a holy place. I recorded sound of the river there.
I recorded the songwriting that I cannot include in 4th LP. It is the song A-1.
A-2 is another take of a song for 5th LP. I remembered the Iraqi War and a friend and sang it. Of each is not related at all. However, I sang it. Why? I don't understand.
About B-2... I feel that the world changes recently. This song is about it. I made the song by unconsciousness. Therefore I do not understand whether the song is good... I think that people should notice recent world strange parts.
I hope listeners who listen to these music become good sensibility!
