12"s of sheer delight. No ,not the contents of my tights, but the latest salvo from the Fuck Buttons. This is quite a sterling work. It starts really softly but then envelops you in its warm rich paws. Not unlike a creature from Where the Wild Things Are. It really creeps up on you and warms your heart. It's a rare delight and the production is amazing .It simply shimmers and winds its merry way into your mind palace...and at over ten minutes you certainly get value for you earth pounds .The rest of the songs are remixes and are pretty good even though they don't pack the emotional clout of the original in my opinion. This should be a number one. It wont be, but like that horse becoming pope, stranger things have happend.... A classic!!

What their label says...

Fuck Buttons take the next step in their continuing mission to expand the sonic landscape with the release of a new single, ‘Olympians’, on 12th April 2010. The pioneering duo will also play their biggest UK shows to date as part of a tour, including a headline show at London’s Koko, in April.

Includes remixes by J. Spaceman (Spiritualized, Spacemen 3) & Alan Vega (Suicide).

Strictly limited to 1000 copies for Europe on heavy colour vinyl.

‘Olympians’ is taken from Fuck Buttons’ second album, ‘Tarot Sport’, a record that graced the high end of most critics’ Best Of 2009 lists. The track got its name after the band undertook a train journey above the 2012 Olympics construction site whilst listening to mixes of the album and everything seemed to fall into place. The suitability of the title was evident and in their own words “the striving forward drive of this song makes us think of imminent glory’. ‘Olympians’ embodies that feeling: an aural depiction of something vast that presents something unique with each listen.

‘Tarot Sport’ - Best Albums of 2009 in NME (number 8), Mojo (8), Pitchfork (11), Clash (2), Uncut, Q, The Times, The Fly, The Independent
