These guys are pleasant enough. The vocals are nice. The musicianship's tight. The melodies are catchy. The sleeve's crap. I guess it sounds like Be Your Own Pet. Or maybe Belly. The title tracks got a crappy disco beat, so It should end up on Skins or some yoof programme in the near future. Its not too bad, but I'm not raving, Mary...

What their label says...

One part American, three parts Scottish, Paper Planes came together in Glasgow. Born out of mutual respect of the late-70's New York punk scene, the upshot is surf/rockabilly guitars with post punk bass runs and beats, all played over East Coast American yelps and drawls. Front woman Jennifer Paley looks like a young Chrissie Hynde and caterwauls as shrilly as Karen O, and guitarist Christopher Haddow channels the ghostly, über-reverby trash-surf of The Cramps, while the rhythm section trade powerful low-end blows. "Paper Planes are the definition of a hot prospect, all shrill girl vocals and low-down dirty riffs, Cramps-style. This debut single is the ideal introduction to your new favourite band." - The Big Issue
