The new Tunng album is a real winner. Not only does it have some amazingly heartfelt songs on it, but also it can provide seconds of double entendre related entertainment. Y'know, "Can I stick this Tunng somewhere..." or "Can I stick this Tunng in your box..?" etc. This album is rich with ideas and emotion. Some of the songs have a slightly Wicker Man soundtrack feel while other songs have a more contemporary vibe. My personal favourites on this album are the ones with potent imagery like the delightful "October". Or "Shashimi" with its "Don't lead her a-stray" refrain. The song "By Dusk They Were In The City" with its A-Ha(?!) referencing is a miserablist classic. It envelopes you like a malaise filled cloud. This album comes with a bonus CD,with remixes by luminaries like Max Tundra and the Memory Band. I've not had the chance of hearing the remix CD yet, but Id say its probably worth a listen.
