This Brighton based outfit aren't shy about wearing their influences out on thier sleeve! 'Low Decameter Sun' is like a classic mix of shoegaze and post rock influences. I can hear elements of Jesus & Mary Chain and Flying Saucer Attack here but the ethereal post rock sound becomes more apparent as the track floats on to it's conclusion. Sorta reminds me of that Ringo Deathstarr stuff but without the cool layered drum sound. 'Silence Outside' is a propulsive, upbeat track that brings to mind Swervedriver with a vocal similar to The Pet Shop Boys or New Order, all light and melodic. Saturated guitars and layers of strings assist a solid Hooky bass line and make for a better tune than the A-side for sure.

What their label says...

Brighton based Air Formation return after two years with their fourth album 'Nothing To Wish For (Nothing To Lose)' in March, recorded with legendary indie producer Pat Collier. After two albums for US independents (Drive-In, Claire) the band's third album 'Daylight Storms' on Club AC30 received excellent reviews (9/10 Drowned In Sound.).With influences like Jesus & Mary Chain and Flying Saucer Attack, and with a love of The Cure and Galaxie 500, 'Low December Sun' is the first single taken from the new album, and is a slice of dark melodic pop in the vein of The Cure's Disintegration-era songs.
