Sunn 0)), Sonic Youth, Bonnie Prince Billy, a sleeve featuring Jad Fair's cut-out artwork, the fact that it starts of with shouting about sandwiches.. This Does Your Cat Know My Dog? compilation LP pretty much sells itself and we gather it's already in short supply elsewhere so interested parties had best look sharp. It's curated by the minds behind Switzerland's Bad Bonn festival and as well as the big stars you've got artists like Sum of R, Your Fault, combineharvester, Bulbul + Boris Hauf, Joe Galen and more who all represent fully in such star-studded company. The Will Oldham track is of his usual fine quality, the Sunn 0))) effort is them doing what they do all live like and the Sonic Youth tune, 'No Way' from The Eternal, is frought with electrical problems which they fight through superbly until the plug is finally pulled, ending a fine compilation in fitting style. Seems like this Bad Bonn thing would be a cool thing to visit one year..

Does Your Cat Know My Dog? is the second volume of a compilation series devoted to musicians, programmers, reviewers, disc sellers or whoever involved in music activities that we love. We offer them the opportunity to share their passion for it by curating a record. For this one we asked the Bad Bonn crew to handle it.
The result perfectly fits the unique spirit of the place, hard to define but extremely appealing. There, you can find a huge diversity between a breakthrough and a confirmed band, between electronic music, doom, folk and indie rock. You can consider this as a big catchall record but it is more likely a perfect reflection of the open-mindedness that qualifies the venue. Of a very friendly nature, Daniel Fontana and his crew created a unique network that allows them to book prestigious bands such as Sonic Youth, Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, Sunn O))) or Carla Bozulich - that many programmers would dream to have on their roster - but always with a particular interest to new and/or local bands. With an exclusive selection of rare or unreleased tracks, this record has not on the musical reputation of the bands, but stands for the friendship they developed with these bands over the years.
