More carnage from Eat Skull this week taking the form of a Woodsist 7" single. A-side 'Jerusalem Mall' is a twisted take on a pre-punk Stooges-esque vision of rock as a possessed and dangerous entity. The fairly formulaic rock groove is bastardized by crazed guitar soloing throughout and makes for a delightfully noisy listen. B-side 'Don't leave me on the speaker' sees the group embracing a shadows-esque structure whilst ramping up the reverb and the saturated guitar solos and final track 'Thank You! Smokebreaks' sounds a little like Thee Oh Sees for a bit before descending into an inexplicable mess of drums, guitars and shouty shouts. With all the info helpfully carved into the leg of a man on the back cover, you'll find this single both clear, informative and easy to navigate....don't forget about the dead kid on the cover....lovely.
