The Animal Collective need no introduction. So I'm not going to give em one. I'm pretty confused by this 'Fall Be Kind' record. It has songs but not as you know them. It's a multi layered opus with undulating rhythms and looped vocals. It has a bit of everything this record. It has MGM musical moments. It has soundscapes. It has sea shanty moments. This EP is crazy!!! Amongst all the insanity there is an unrelenting positive heart beating. The sleeves a strange one too, almost indescribable...a bit like this band… 12" and CD EP out on Domino.

Love this record? Hate it? Tell us.

What their label says...

Animal Collective release a new five track studio mini-album, less than one year after the band’s
critically acclaimed album ‘Merriweather Post Pavillion’ wowed fans and critics across the globe.

Recorded by Ben Allen at Sweet Tea in Oxford,
and at Mission Sound in Brooklyn, ‘Fall Be Kind’
includes recent live favourites ‘Graze’ and
‘What Would I Want? Sky’ (featuring the first
ever licensed Grateful Dead sample).

‘Merriweather Post Pavillion’ has already
been named One Of The Most Important
Albums Of The Year by Q Magazine and Spin
in the US, and Of The Entire Decade by Uncut
and Pitchforkmedia.
