What their label says...
TRACKLISTING: 1 – Silent Hour 2 – Smear 3 – Only In Death OVERVIEW: An Experiment On A Bird In The Air Pump are set to release a new single on their own, fledgling Buy A Life Records label on the 30th November 2009. Formed in London in 2008, C-Bird, D-Bird and X-Bird are three women creating music in their own unique way. With a line up that features two bass guitars and minimal drums played standing up, they constantly swap instruments to create a sound that’s influenced by everything from 60s pop music to Grunge. ‘Buy A Life EP’, released on limited seven inch and available to download, was recorded during Spring 2009 and produced by Tim Burgess of The Charlatans. The new EP is the follow up to their critically acclaimed debut EP ‘These Sins’. Lead track ‘Silent Hour’ bristles with menace. Beginning with a seductive and melodic bass line, C-Bird’s sparse yet menacing single floor tom and X-Bird’s sultry vocal work, the track roars into life with D-Bird’s bass crashing into messy distortion. X-Bird’s delivery remaining calm above the storm of high octane guitar-noise, the track ending in frenzy of frustration. The Birds have recently returned from Chicago after recording their debut album with legendary producer Steve Albini (Nirvana, PJ Harvey, The Pixies).
