METAL FINGERED DOOM!!!! 'Gazzillion Ear' is the highlight of Doom's most recent LP 'Born Like This' with it's amazing spooky bass and organ groove making me wanna sack the dodgems off in favour of the ghost train! I love everything about this tune from the intro drum roll to the Ennio Morricone sampled mid section and unruly rhymes. Anyway, most of you who are interested will have heard this so it'll be the remixes that will be of most interest. Thom Yorke's effort is suitably spooky and will no doubt appeal to Radiohead/Thom Yorke fans but the flow sounds odd due to the crazy increase in tempo. The Dr Who Dat? mix is a simple, effective spaced out jam made up of an assortment of odd synth sounds that stay grounded throughout. Jneiro Jarel & Dave Sitek of TV on The Radio come up with the best mix mainly due to it's steady pace, ace beat and cheeky use of guitars but none come close to the original J.Dilla mix. Still worth a listen just for the sweet bonus beat courtesy of The.Green.Whore.Net...cheeky.
