The Six Organs Of Admittance/ Azul split Lp on PSF is literally one of the nicest records I've seen. It's one of those records that once you've clapped eyes on it you feel like you have to own it. The fact that it's vinyl on PSF, the artwork is amazing, the bands are ones you like (though I'd not heard of Azul before) and even the cardboard used for the sleeve is reassuringly thick. Oh, and how nice is it to have obi strips on LP's? Very nice is the correct answer... very nice indeed. Chasny whoops up one long track of psyched out fuzzy guitar rock action which on first listen disappointed me but on a proper review listen I'm getting it much more. Well psyched and spaced off it is. The 5 tracks by Azul are on a more whimsical tip and they're clearly a massive bunch of hippies. No bad thing though... anyone who remembers me about 15 years ago will remember how much of a knob I looked when I went through my hippy phase (I now look like a dying builder). Plenty of tablas, wah wahs, acoustic guitars and airy fairy vocals fill up the side which I initially preferred to the 6 Organs side. On 2nd listen though I've turned... I'd like to think I'd turn back though and it will be one of those records which will always surprise you.
