The pains of being pure at heart are a very handsome bunch of characters with immense marketability, a sure fire recipe for success. Does it matter if i like new single 'Come Saturday'? I don't think does but i'll tell you about it anyway. 'Come Saturday' is a fully digestible slab of classic british style shoe gazer/indie pop. All the appropriate elements are present; a warm bass sound, tom heavy drums, jangly guitars, reverberant vocal melodies and masses of studio effects. The exclusive B-side 'Side Ponytail' is surgery sweet and appears to take a dig at the ultra fashionable hair style that's sweeping the dance floors of indie rock clubs around the globe.

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart are a New York four-piece who play genius noisy pop songs with boy/girl vocals, blissful melodies, fuzz guitar and blistering drums. Despite only having been together for just over a year. The Pains of Being Pure at Heart are - along with their fellow Brooklyn scenesters The Vivian Girls and Crystal Stilts - one of the buzz American bands of the moment. Tipped as one of five to watch in 2009 by Pitchfork founder Ryan Schreiber on ABC news, they’ve released a brilliant debut album, wowed the crowds at SXSW, Primavera, Roskilde and The Isle Of Wight festivals and picked up famous fans in the form of Little Boots, Tim Burgess and Nicky Wire. Plus they’ve stormed the UK with some incredible sold out tours, including four packed-out London shows on their last UK trip alone. Now the four-piece are set to unleash one of their debut album’s undisputed standout tracks as the next single. Come Saturday is three minutes of fuzzed-up joy; a thrilling blast of indie-pop with searing guitars, whoop-along chorus and loved-up lyrics: “I can't see into the sunset, all I know is that you’re perfect right now" – backing with exclusive B-side “Side Ponytail” The single will be the final cut taken from the debut album before an EP of brand new material hits the shelves in October. Featuring the tracks Higher Than The Stars, 103, Twins and Falling Over, it promises to be another dose of winning indie-pop, and is sure to be snapped up by the band’s growing fanbase. After that, it’s back in the studio to set to work on album number two. No rest for the pure at heart. And besides, says Kip, “Days off are no fun!” Thrilling and insouciantly cool, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart might just be the most exciting indiepop band on the planet right now. "Pure indie-pop to hold close to your heart." – NME.
