The fourth in the series of Young Widows split 7"'s arrives and this one is a split with My Disco. Easy Acting by Young Widows is a Chicago esque awkward sounding stomp with nods to bands like The Jesus Lizard and Jackson (not Wacko) era Tar. Massive chuggy bassline throbbing over a pounding drumbeat with some nice feedback riddled guitar. This is some hugely powerful and amazingly well recorded and produced rock music. I like it... My Disco I've not heard of before but they're not a million miles away from Young Widows. Big well produced sounding rawwwk music.... it's much slower and more brooding than Young Widows.... it almost reminds me a bit of a one of Shellac's more stripped back moments... the drums and bass section are well Shellac. It's cool anyway and now you have all 4 sleeves to it together to make a nice new picture. Finally!!

What their label says...
Following on the heels of their breakthrough Old Wounds album, Young Widows have assembled an all-killer-no-filler split single series, featuring new, unreleased Young Widows jams, split up over four separate 7" singles, accompanied by a handful of their favorite friends and artists on the opposite sides of each single. Those artists include Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, Melt-Banana, Pelican, and My Disco. All songs by all artists are brand new and exclusive to this series. Each single is strictly limited to a one-time pressing of 2,000 copies. The artwork for the four singles fits together to form one large, beautiful puzzled image. This fourth and final single in the series features Young Widows and My Disco. “The perfect example of a band hitting their stride.” Lambgoat / “Young Widows generously churn out some truly enjoyable noise while inflicting a few bruises in the process.” Treble / “Young Widows have chosen the finest of raw materials to work with and managed to stitch them together with untold skill and ingenuity, carving out an ugly, brutish sound for themselves that’s taut, jagged and lumberingly powerful.” Rock-A-Rolla…
