I just asked Phil to give me some shit indie stuff but he went and gave me this which isn't that at all. Just goes to show that you rarely get what you want. Build on a high, simple, two-note guitar riff, 'Meet and Greet' is a highly rhythmical tune which steps along with a insistent elegance while various elements drop in and out, taking the emphasis then fading back away. The overall impression is something like a far more pop-oriented Tortoise operating in the service of a catchy, chant-like vocal. Very good!
