In on Record Label Records is a decent 12" by Brian Ellis called 'Yellow Light District'. It's also got a pretty garish sleeve but he does have enormously bendy arms to play his keyboard so that's OK. In fact the sleeve will give you some idea to the tunes within as he is some sort of keyboard maestro from the future sent back to play a load of old electro to keep you funsticks happy. The press release is spot on for this one as it namechecks Georgio Moroder, Black Devil Disco Club, Yellow Magic Orchestra amongst others and they were the ones who came to mind. He's also been touring with The Egyptian Lover so I guess some of that old electro fun will have rubbed off. The lead track really reminds me of the Airwolf music at times... Nice old synth sounds and if you're into vintage sounding electro this is well worth checking out and it's on well fat heavy yellow summer wax. Chosen for a reason I Guess?

What their label says...
Fresh from playing keyoards for select live dates with The Egyptian Lover, San Diego based music producer releases his first 12" album "Yellow Light District" on Record Label Records. Drawing influences from electronic pioneers such as Giorgio Moroder, Black Devil Disco Club, Yellow Magic Orchestra, Bruce Haack and Kraftwerk, Brian E delivers an original dance album that takes notice to it's predicessors while expanding upon their ideas. "Yellow Light District" is breath of fresh air for modern electro/disco... A would-be classic had it been made 30 years prior.
