Vivian Girls ain't breaking new ground that's for sure but this
Brooklyn all-girl three piece certainly know how to do justice to tried
and tested musical formulas and that's all it takes to get the hipster
kids and loft party weirdos grinning like goons. I am among them
dancing like a douche, welcoming with open arms the return of C86 style
lo-fi indie pop. 'Moped Girls' sounds like it was recorded by Phil
Spector but it wasn't cause he's totally in jail. Maybe he wrote the
magic formula on the toilet door of some New York club before his
incarceration?? who knows but now everyone can make awesome reverb
enriched garage pop records whenever they want. Yeah!!! 'Death' has the
sweetest discordant vocal i've heard in some time. Excellent record
with a strangely unflattering cover. Check it out yo!

What their label says...
Two brand new and exclusive songs that are only available on this limited 7" on for us records (the label of rough trade shops). these two songs were recorded at the end of their last tour at studio plateaux on platts eyot island by kristian robinson from capitol k. 'moped girls' is one minute and 54 seconds of reverb drenched indie pop perfection that sounds like it should have been released in 1986 on the subway organization or 53rd and 3rd records. on the flip 'death' starts like a long lost 60's 'girls in the garage' nugget before turning into a much darker beast with reverb vocals and guitars taking the lead. we are getting 500, thats it:
