So here I am writing this review again a week later as Maggie
annoyingly deleted my last review for this. It was great as well.
Probably the best review I'd ever written and it's lost in cyberspace.
No one will ever see it..... a daunting thought I'm sure you'll all
agree. The only option I have left is to cobble together another review
for this incredible A Sunny Day In Glasgow CD which is so good you
should need a licence to own it. This is simply great experimental
indie music taking in elements of all your old faves like Jesus &
Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine, Medicine, The Cocteaus, Sarah Records
etc...but yet it's so much more. It's a right ole ecelctic mess and the
whole thing reminds me of that fantastic New Sound of Numbers CD from
last year. I'm not sure how they've got such a diverse amount of sounds
and influences (you can even hear bits of Aphex and Seefeel in there at
times) and made it coherent but astonishingly they have. It's like the
indie of the early 90's but made with a fresh modern take and it really
totally works. The tunes.. the production.... the whole shebang. It's
great! Scribble Mural Comic Journal is CD only!! My original review was
loads better than this..... I got cack all sleep last night.... the
next time I see Maggie.....
Love this record? Hate it? Tell us.
