OVERVIEW: Winner of the BBC Sound 2009 poll Little Boots (a.k.a Blackpool’s own Victoria Hesketh) will be releasing her debut single "New In Town" with 679/Atlantic on May 25th 2009.

Produced by Greg Kurstin (Lily Allen, Kylie Minogue) "New In Town" is pop at its purest. It sums up all the excitement and anticipation of your first visit to LA and the feeling that anything is possible in the city of palm trees, movie stars and lost dreams.

The 7” format features a remix from Franz Ferdinand lead singer Alex Kapronos, Whilst the 12” format includes remixes by London bloghead A1 bassline, NY DJ du jour Drop The Lime, NY pop-disco outfit The Golden Filter, and Glasgow’s Den Haan.

Victoria commented, "I'm really pleased 'New In Town' is the first single, its very bold and colourful and doesn't really sound like anything else out there so it was always my first choice. I wrote the song one of the first times I was in LA on my own which was a combination of amazing and strangely isolating... so its about being a stranger in a strange place which is fun but also has a dark side, and someone showing you around and in the end just kind of letting go. I feel like it’s a really good bridge between what people have heard already and what they can expect from the upcoming album'".
