All of which make the new Phantom Band single sound amazing. Which it isn't... Though it's not too bad and it's certainly one of the better things I've heard in Chemikal Underground in a while. 'The Howling' is 7" only and I've no idea what to write about it. They don't really sound like anything else? The vocals are Scottish sounding but then so are most Chemikal Underground bands... There's keyboards, jangly guitars, fuzzy bass (I think), an unusual song structure and a slight krautrock feel to it. I kind of like it though..... Nice picture on the sleeve which will appeal to all you Sunn O))) fans out there as it's all goblins and dragons with a bunch of druids standing in a circle around a floating square box. Mystical!
