Kurt Cobain bummed The Vaselines and quite rightly so, they're brilliant. Like a gift from a shiny happy New Testament God, Sub Pop (who else?) have seen fit to issue a deluxe collection of basically everything you're ever gonna need by the band. You can buy this one, look at it, go "I never need to buy another Vaselines record in my life" then get around to listening to and falling in love with the gloriously odd indie fuzzpop gems contained in this lovingly remastered set. All the tunes made famous via their Nirvana versions are present and correct as well as their own masterpiece of a cover 'You Think You're a Man', an immense disco stomper originally recorded by mental transsexual John Waters muse Divine. Load up your purchase pistol and unload a full clip of lead currency death into Enter the Vaselines until the job's fucking done. It's well cheap in either of its handsomly packaged double CD or triple LP incarnations and almost definitely the best thing ever. NO LIE.

The Vaselines have long been celebrated by musicians and indie rock
enthusiasts across the globe, including superfan Kurt Cobain, while
remaining underappreciated by the mainstream. Enter The Vaselines is
the definitive triple LP/double CD Vaselines collection. It includes
new mixes and re-mastered versions of material previously available
on The Way of the Vaselines, plus never-before-heard demos, and live
recordings from 1986 in Bristol and 1988 in London.
This new
collection is effectively a deluxe-edition reissue of the 1992 Sub Pop
release The Way of The Vaselines with a new title and new cover art from
the band, and a whole lot of new material (the entirety of the 17-song
second CD/third LP has been added). Originally mastered from a cassette tape,
The
Way of The Vaselines compiled the band’s two EPs (Son of a Gun and
Dying for It) and their sole LP release (Dum-Dum). Enter The Vaselines
is the definitive triple LP/double CD Vaselines collection. It includes
new mixes and re-mastered versions of everything by The Vaselines, plus
never-before-heard demos, and live recordings from 1986 in Bristol and
1988 in London.
Triple vinyl - single wide sleeve.
