The Chapman Family play a variation on the indie rock anthems we've been hearing alot of in the last few years yet these dudes have obviously been bitten by the rock out bug because this has been made to sound as dirty as possible without loosing any of it's indie pop sensibilities. 'Kids' sounds like The Futureheads but with more distortion and shredding. Apparently, according to the chorus of single 'Kids' the kids are not alright..... They seem fine to me with their iPods and their wacky clothes. I don't think The Chapman Family should be so concerned. 'Kids' is backed by 'Million Dollars' [live]. The recording is nothing special but the track certainly showcases another side to there songwriting style. This sounds like an old Cure single but with a slightly bolder, bigger sound. The drums and particularly dramatic and thumpy. Probably works really well when you are in the room and I'm sure the studio recording sounds much better.
