I was trying to suss out what the scenario is in the Franz Ferdinand 'No You Girls' single sleeve. Some chap is on the deck looking well out of it and then the other guy is either booting him in the head or nudging his head with his foot to see if he's alive. Of course it's possible he fell over and landed on the other guys foot. Anyway the song is catchier than a rusty syringe filled with aids, syphilis, hepatitis, gonorrhea, and herpes. This is of course a bad thing (unless you want your bits to fall off and then die). Synth wizard Vince Clarke pops up on the CD single and turns in a forgettable remix but does have some of his nice trademark synthesizer melodies. The Zomby mix was supposed to be on the 7" according to the sales notes but it's on the 12" instead and the 7" has a B-side by the band. The Zomby mix just sounds like a Zomby tune with a token Franz vocal snippet chucked in to the mix. It's all bubbling aquatic sounds and spacey dubby effects with a bass riff that's all wonked out and sounds like it's drifting out of time to disorientate you on the dancefloor. For me this is thee mix. Out on Domino.
