This is wonderfully package release from Gestammelorchester with each 7" adorned with a torn photo of an industrial landscape. On 'Coins' the music is a fairly straight forward indie rock with mild schizophrenic tendencies and some crafty recording techniques helping to elevate it beyond the mundane. Minimalist verses breakout into big scratchy guitar rock choruses that seem to come out of nowhere. The b-side "Aus bei mit nach seit von zu" is instantly more satisfying. It's a strange wonkily played indie rock number with an dry, undistorted riffs and slightly strange time signatures. They sort of ruin it all a bit by adding a distorted sucker punch of a riff later in the track but i'm unfazed and still tempted to take it home for a second listen.

What their label says...
'Coins'/'Aus Bei Mit Nach Seit Von Zu' is the new double-A-side single by Gestammelorchester, and is being released on FUK Laboratories as FUK003, on seven-inch single and as a free download from Gestammel.com. 'Coins' is just over two minutes long and features quiet bits, loud bits, jerky bits, and a Guidophone. 'Aus Bei Mit Nach Seit Von Zu' features a section in 37/24 time. The download features a remix by Irish splatterbeat wunderkind Herv, which is also on his new album, 'Interiority' (out now on Acroplane.org). The seven-inch comes in a sealed cover, with a sticker, and all the covers are hand made, featuring old photographs, Soviet maps, German books, bits of wire, and various other things -- each cover is unique.
