Dananananaykroyd are back with a new 7"- 'Black Wax' - which is a mellower beast than the awesome 'Pink Sabbath'. It reminds me a little in construction of the last Sonic Youth album, it's got this easy going anthemic pop thing going on, the guitars chime rather than scream & it's got this spindly art-rock attitude throughout with some nice dinky loose chords being strummed and chanty vocal chords yelping at yr face off like an emo Jack Russell. It gets a little more chaotic towards the end but all in all it doesn't particularly hit the necessary heights for us. We totally respect their stance though, and the artwork rules.....Ltd 7" only...

What their label says...

‘Black Wax’ is the new single from Dananananaykroyd’s forthcoming debut
album ‘Hey Everyone’. It was produced and mixed by New York based superproducer
Machine who’s back catalogue includes Johnny Foreigner, Fall Out
Boy and Grammy nominated metal lords Lamb Of God.

Dananananaykroyd are confirmed to play the much sought after ASCAP Showcase
at SXSW 2009 as well as the SAC (Scottish Arts Council) Showcase at La
Zona Rosa with Primal Scream. The band have just finished their first full
European tour supporting Kaiser Chiefs, along the way in 2008 they have also
completed tours supporting Foals, Holy F**k, Johnny Foreigner as well as a
headline tour of the UK.

The bands debut EP ‘Sissy Hits’ received rave reviews across the alternative press,
earning four out of five in Kerrang
