What their label says...

Monkey Steak are Bristol and London producers Atki2 and Hanuman. Over the past few years they’ve consistently been pushing the boundaries of breaks, dubstep and future-garage, with a string of releases on Werk (including Volume One of the legendary Grim Dubs series), Shadetek, Punch Drunk, Death$ucker, Slit Jockey, Combat, and Immerse. Their first release for Sleazetone sees them taking things in a more bassline-oriented direction, with five tracks of forward-thinking 4x4 anthems informed by garridge and dubstep, with some Latin American and Carribean vibes thrown in the mix for additional spice and colour. ‘Warpath’, ‘Sexypumpy’, and ‘Voodoo Is Everywhere’ are a trio of absolute storming heavyhitter bassline cuts with an abstract bent that will keep the attention of the experimental heads while everyone else just heads for the dancefloor’. ‘Veuve Edouard’ is a throbbing bass-tastic monsterbailefunk excursion made with dubstep’s precision-production qualities, and ‘History!’ is a fast moving soca-influenced dancefloor smasher with some postively sick sub bass. Keep an eye on these dudes, for real.
