Dance To The Radio chuck a new single at us this week by Grammatics. I can't remember what their previous singles were like but being as though I can't remember what I ate for lunch that's no big surprise. 'Shadow Committee' is a weird single... It seems reasonably normal before it goes into a weird System of A Down esque chorus albeit a bit more indie. There's some soft of cello thing softening things up and upping the epic ante. It's an epic 7", so much so I don't think it should be on a 7" as it's too OTT. It needs to be a on a new format which hasn't yet been created as none of the available formats are appropriate. Please wing over any suggestions.

What their label says...

This is the lead single release before the critically acclaimed Grammatics’ debut
album drops. The double A-side also features a brand new non album track.
• The band toured in January 2008 with The Futureheads, and they also played to a
huge crowd on the main stage at the Latitude Festival. In 2009 they are touring with
the Radio One playlisted Red Light Company.
• The Grammatics played a BBC Radio One session for Huw Stevens at
Maida Vale.
• Free download single ‘New Franchise’ was released in the summer and gave the
band attention from BBC Radio 5 Live (whom they did a session for) and got them
a glowing write up in The Sunday Times. To date ‘New Franchise’ has
amassed over 2000 downloads.
• “You are looking at an album that is so rare, so well created and driven by people so
talented, it is nothing short of perfect.” 10/10 –AudioScribbler,  “An early
contender for Rock Sound’s Album’s Of 2009.” 8/10 – Rock Sound, “The blend of
Owen Brinley’s choirboy vocals and a raft of prog-tinged riffs is a source of promise,
magic and drama.” 4/5 – Uncut, “Done with such poise and craft you’re left
breathless.” 4/5 – The Fly”.
