Ida Maria. She's that feisty Scando honey that wants to see me naked according to her last single. Daft woman, she'll not be happy if I send her nude photos will she? She'll be contacting Interpol who'll come round and beat my face off with their big, doomy overcoat rock truncheons. I've got to admit, I've kinda liked the singles so far (don't tell Anthony) and now 'Oh My God' has been chucked out again. She looks like Laetitia from Stereolab on the sleeve.....and yes, I really like this song. For FM radio rock, it's at least got a spot of passion, edge & a slight rawness that really appeals. The ever accelerating guitars are a little reminiscent of early PJ Harvey and she has the same cracked edginess to her vocals (a little smokier/huskier p'haps). I'm sure that she's not for many of you (the live track on this CD single is excerable) but for a genuine dose of fiery air punching indie pop aimed at Mojo readers, she's just the ticket. 7"/CDs.
