This Esser guy is the latest in a long line of dandy types who obviously want to inject the bland charts with a vaudeville, theatrical twist. And on 'Satisfied' I gotta hand it to him. Blending a reggae lite/dancehall rhythm with an eerie ballroom sensibility and a catchy as SARS lyric, he makes for a fresh & strangely addictive pop contender. It's the ghost train organ that does it for me every fricking time. Mr Bobby and the Turds could do a song about exlax to a Huey Lewis & the News backing track & if it had that bloody organ on i'd still love it to bits. He does however look like a bit of a twat, half teddy boy, half slick Italian romeo but he's obviously got this pop game in his blood so i'll leave him be....for now. Ltd 7" on Transgressive & if yr convinced by him we still have that weird T-shirt/download package from last time lurking in the stockroom. Could be a future E-bay prize that :0]

TRACKLISTING: A) Satisfied, B) Maybe In The Morning,

OVERVIEW: 'Satisfied' is the next masterful pop outing for man of the moment Esser. Coming on like a perfect piece of dancehall klezmer, the piano laden intro leads you into a tale of woe from a boy who just can't please his girl.

Replete with handclaps, tambourines, reggae beats and calypso-style steel drum sounds, 'Satisfied' even sounds like it's playing on a 78 in 1954 - complete with crackles.

Produced with Lexxx, sidekick of the A-List mixer Mark 'Spike' Stent (U2, Madonna) - Esser's debut album will be released in April 2009.
