Oh bollocks not a 7" by The Kills... Here we go then... 'Tape Song' is actually fairly raw sounding, but not in a lo-fi way but in a way that they've spent money to sound like a garage rock band. Phil reckons there's a wee brit pop thing lurking underneath "A bit like Salad" he says. At one point I thought I was reminded of the Breeders and Brett reckons the vocals are trying to sound like Yeah Yeah Yeah's. Fuck know's... at least I tried.

What their label says...

· 2008 saw the return of one of rock’s most unique and enigmatic duos,
The Kills, with their third album ‘Midnight Boom’. VV (Alison) and
Hotel (Jamie) have long symbolised what draws people to rock ‘n’ roll,
downright cool and sexy, and with songs that most other rock n roll acts
can only dream about making
· The production on this third album features beats and studio smarts from
Spank Rock’s producer Alex Epton aka Armani XXXchange, and has
won them new fans across the board, and widespread praise from the
likes of Mojo, The Fly, Mixmag, Time Out and TV performances on
Later, as well as T4, Sound, E4 and The Album Chart Show,
Jonathan Ross, and Never Mind The Buzzcocks.
· ‘Tape Song’ is a dark and moody rock n roll anthem, while B-side
‘London Hates You’ is a beautiful poignant tale which for many, will
offer a new softer side to The Kills which many won’t be familiar with.

‘Tape Song’ is a rock n’ roll anthem featuring tantalizing vocals from Alison Mosshart and
disjointed guitar playing from Jamie Hince, with a highly infectious and explosive chorus.
