Psapp are instantly recoginisable. Like your mum or dad.... faces you tend to not forget. Stick 'em on and you know straight away that Psapp are making their noise in your ears. I do like this band. They're what I term an experimental indie band and there's not too many of 'em about these days. They string together great little ditties which sound like aural sugar to me. The Monster Song is a great little pop tune... It's got that marimba thing/ weird percussion which is very toytown sounding. In fact the single as a whole has an innocent childlike approach. Smashing catchy little pop tune with the wonkiest monsters I've ever seen on the front of a record cover for at least 3 weeks. I like the melodica which parps in later on. Always like a bit of melodica I do. Maybe a bit of latter Laika in there.

What their label says...

· ‘The Monster Song’ is a hugely catchy, life
affirming and vast pop number. If Psapp was a
Sunday afternoon film this would be the moment
when the sun came out and everyone danced in
glorious Technicolor.
· Features are being run in Clash, 10 and
Amelia’s magazines, and radio plays for the
song have come from John Kennedy and
Nemone on 6 Music.
· Keep an eye out for the strange and violent
video for ‘The Monster Song’ which opens you
up to the world of Psapp.
