CHOPS are a wild damaged dance band from Leeds. They share this record with Helhesten, a haunted howl noise ensemble based in the South.
This split release is part of a series of records from Upset The Rhythm documenting the fertile and often overlooked experimental / underground scene in the UK.
Leeds-based CHOPS hit the ground running through 2007 hellbent on perfecting their spontaneous combustion of jazzoid excess and lock-popping party bombs. HELHESTEN are a three-headed sonic blitz. Employing clarinet, beat-up
guitar, effected-voice and a variety of percussion, Helhesten craft an aching flux of soaring and swamped-out sounds.
This split LP will be released on white and purple dipped vinyl, limited to 500 copies only, and gatefold sleeve.
