Quite like the Fight Like Apes album of which we've got a promo, the last single was a bit of a red herring. I've absolutely no idea why they've opted to re-issue 'Jake Summers' when the original on Cool For Cats is still available but this feisty mix of Los Campesinos, Be Your Own Pet and ...erm Avril Lavigne is a proper fruity, noisy squall of an indie floor burner that is far more satisfying than 'Break Your Face' or whatever this alarmingly confrontational lass wanted to do last time. On this occasion she actually admits she never meant to "break my ding-a-ling-ling" I mean, doorbells, they cost an fortune woman. I like the bits where she shrieks and someones's processed it through a quadrant-flange 87693 ZX spectrum analyser to make it sound like a digital seagull. Would like to see these live, they sound real fun. Blue marbled vinyl on Model Citizen which is what I am.

What their label says...

Jake Summers’ is the follow up to the well received ‘Lend Me Your Face’.
