Just got our batch of limited Tindersticks 7"s in. It's 'Boobar Come Back to Me' backed with the exclusive 'Tout L'Amour' which is sung in French but not by Stu Staples, his husky baritone is nowhere to be found but the music is very beautiful. Reflective & sad, like a lost Serge Gainsbourg song, I especially like the pinging triangle being struck incessantly throughout and the light but wistful string flourishes. The 'A' side is on 'The Hungry Saw', just pure melancholy 'Sticks drama that could just as well be taken from the 2nd album or Curtains. I'm just dead glad they're still going and like The Walkmen, retaining the rich, treasured sound that made them the intitution they blooming well are. We've not many left of these dinked 7"s , there's a mere 600 copies for the world on Stuart's own Lucky Dog imprint so I must stress 1 PER PERSON,!!!!
