Jay Reatard I've not had the pleasure of before. His new 7" on Matador is called 'Always Wanting More' and reminds me of some long forgotten British punk band like The Lurkers or summat crossed with early Sebadoh after too many coffees. Phil says it sounds like summat off Shifty Disco records. Just great lo-fi punk pop really. The second track was even more trebly and brief with this well wonky, tinny organ motif snaking all over it drunkenly. I wanna know if he fits into this "shit-gaze" phenomenon! The vinyl is one sided, clear with some cool colour crayon style splurge print all over the blank side which makes it a unique looking collectors piece & possibly the coolest single in this week. If you like the Psychedelic Horseshit record, this is it's equally fuzzed up toytown bro'
