Lovely stuff from MV & EE now, it sounds like a lazy summer's day which is a nice contrast with that actual 'outside' place which is not only grim grim grim today but also contains my car stuck down some steps. 'The Best It Ever Was' slopes along drumlessly with the (Young Marble Giants-esque) bass the only real propulsion, the little bits of wah-wah guitar over the top just sound like someone playing around in their bedroom all relaxed like while someone coos contentedly but absentmindedly over the top. The B-side is short and sweet, it's got a similar feel with banjos, strings and harmonica thrown into the mix.. It's all rather nice I have to say.

What their label says...
gps33 mv+ee "the best it ever was" 500 copy 7" the 2nd of these early summer MV+EE 45s on the GPS, and like thethis one's a gem. matt and erika are once again backed by the golden road on this hazy, bass led, slowburner. limited to 500 copies, the first of these 45s went out double quick....
