Fight Like Apes are the perfect example of throwaway indie. A yellow vinyl 7" spilling with screechy girl vocal and monotone stumbling guitar pop that does little new for me but is quite raucous & fun & may well sound distracting at a dayglo indie riot disco. It kinda needs a decent middle eight at least though, a bit of progression....there's just not enough substance really to 'Lend Me Your Face' apart from the fact the girl singer wants to smash yr face up & give you it back. I'd like to smash this record up & give it her back!!! Ha ha only joking! It's fun fun fun all the way and I shouldn't be so nearly serious about off kilter novelty guitar pop should I?

The band’s first UK single release since their limited edition 7” on Cool For Cats in 2007 was recorded in Seattle with producer John Goodmanson (Los Campesinos, Sleater Kinney). Available as a limited edition (500) yellow vinyl 7” in a hand stamped yellow outer bag or as a digital download the single includes a scorching cover of Mclusky’s ‘Lightsabre Cocksucking Blues’.
