...according to our Ant on 10 July 2008.
i-D ‘According to the golden pop rule that has presided over everyone from Blondie to Busted, you’ll want to sleep with at least one of them.’
NME ‘They’re robbing a generation of their innocence with an eyebrow raised so far they’re practically receding. And, make no mistake, this generation love it.’
POP ‘A sound of Velvet Underground simplicity and Jacques Lu Cont attitude, stuck in a blender with a gulp a beer, a dollop of sleaze and healthy sprinkle of reality bites.’
The loveable Parisian trio follow up the debut album ‘Reality Bites’ with another chunk of sugar coated candy coloured pop.
Busy launching themselves in their twin homes away from home (the UK and the US) the band have spent the first part of 2008 on the road. Time well spent it seems as their adoring fan base, of everyone from teens to 30 somethings, grows daily, and the venues continue to sell out. Just ask anyone who saw their ram jammed performance at this years Coachella.
Sounding like its straight out of a John Hughes movie ‘Make It Happen’ is an upbeat fun-tastic summer anthem in waiting. The kind of track gangs of lager soaked teens will be singing throughout our UK airport terminals this summer. The new single sees bandmates Michael and Dorian step up to share vocal duties with lead singer Quentin. An amusing buoyant ode dedicated to their fans, polished off with their trademark casio keys and bubbling synths - ‘Make It Happen’ will have us skipping along to The Teenagers colourful Euro pop beat all summer.
When The Teenagers return from their US tour later this summer they head straight into festival mode playing Glastonbury, Bestival, Dot To Dot, The Great Escape to name but a few! Anyone who attended the album launch Prom party can testify the live show is anything but boring and needs to be seen to be believed.
