The Last Shadow Puppets have a new one out on CD and two 7"s (with a different B-side on each format, grr.. Although the vinyl is nice and thick), 'Standing Next to Me'. It's actually a hell of a lot better than I thought it'd be considering that the bands this lot come from couldn't do much less for me, it reminds me of Scott Walker a bit.. Like 'Hero of the War' maybe. It's got that kind of symphonic grandeur going on and pulls it off pretty well. Everyone else here is chuckling suggestively about the sleeve of an open-mouthed naked lady but I don't really know why. Just looks like she wants an ice lolly or something.
