Got a various artists 6 tracker on Big Scary Monsters. 'The Six Machine' is a 10" featuring Blakfish, Caesura, My First Tooth, Colour, The Defeat, Minotaur Explode. Blakfish kick off somewhere inbetween math rock and pure metal. They sound well pissed off. Caesura bring things down a little into more straight up indie rock turf and My First Tooth go for an acoustic strummer. Colour's contribution is full of energy and a bit catchy. The defeat are quite radio friendly sounding while Minotaur Explode go for a full on upbeat indie rocker. It's just struck me that this review is probably of no use to anyone. The 10" however serves as showcase/ sampler of some underground UK bands.The 6 Machine is a compilation record featuring six of the UK's finest up and coming bands chosen by the public on behalf of Oxford based independent record label, Big Scary Monsters. The bands featured include; Blakfish, Caesura, My First Tooth, Colour, The Defeat, Minotaur Explode.

Bunch of these are local bands, not bad stuffMy friend's obsessed with Colour, and I've heard good things about Caesura and Blakfish
