No need for the filthy B word. MGMT.... their 2nd UK single is in and it's called 'Electric Feel'. I was told to expect Mercury Rev, Flaming Lips from these guys and that's not what I get from this single. I get Shakatak or Shalamar... some early 80's style funk disco. Funnily enough I quite like the tune though I'm not entirely sure why. I don't normally like happy soul laden funk pop but this is stroking my biscuits for some reason. It's cheesey as owt 'n all. The Justice mix on it singularly contains every single thing that is wrong with music in one track. It's astonishingly bad. What the label says: Brilliant new single taken from the critically acclaimed debut album "Oracular Spectacular". Ltd 7" purple vinyl includes a remix of "Time To Pretend". Ltd 2 trk Cd features exclusive trk. This cool, sharp, vivid pop song is already a fans favourite on the current UK tour

About the humble 7":

The humble 7" is the smallest of the vinyl formats (not including the ridiculous 5") and it's the perfect medium for transporting a couple of new songs by up and coming bands straight into your ears. They're fun and they take up less space in your house than something bigger would. They come in a plethora of exciting colours and fantastical packages, and you can fit about 14 minutes onto one 7". You may have to get up every few minutes to put a new record on but think of the exercise. Don't forget every record you buy plays at least 2 speeds (depending on your stereo) and you need to play all records on all speeds to get the maximum joy from your purchase.
