What the label says:

Long overdue repress / reissue, Herman Dne are comprised of two Swedish brothers and a man named Om on the drums. Last year they released Turn Out the Light, their critically acclaimed debut on the European Prohibited label. Mojo magazine observed, Herman Dune's idiosyncratic vistas capture the imagination, recalling the cut-and-paste lyricism of Julian Cope, the deliciously woozy chug of the Velvet Underground and the metronomic repetition of Can. The band has toured the citrus-deprived, pestilence-ridden land mass of Europe, stopping off for appearances on John Peel's radio show and otherwise making quite a name for themselves abroad. The trio currently resides in Paris, France. The brothers Herman Dne - David-Ivar and Andr - cite as important influences their family home in Dalarna, Sweden (with its silence, space, and trees), the German writer Franz Jung, and the music of VU, Sebadoh and other usual suspects.

About the humble CD:

The CD is essentially a small portable face mirror which has an extra feature of being able to play music (through a thing known as a CD player). These CD's are a modern invention hence them being all shiny and digital. They can hold about 80 minutes of music and apparently are indestructible as you can smear jam on them and they still play (not as nourishing as toast mind you but when you're hungry.....). They sound crystal clear and are tiny convenient things. They lack the charm and warmth of their old analogue counterparts but their portability, convenience and ease of being duplicated make them a perfect thing of a thing for most folks. Jewel cases are the worst thing ever though and they really need to stop.
