LA septet The Warlocks released their single 'Baby Blue' on the 27th of October 2003.
Released on Cd and 7", the dreamy, sinister West-coast pop of Baby Blue was perhaps always the obvious choice of single from the Phoenix album, where sitars, melodic bass and carefully controlled feedback conspire to make, if not the best three minutes The Warlocks have produced so far, certainly the prettiest. As you'd expect from a band boasting such an arsenal of sound, the best way to experience The Warlocks is live and the b-sides on the CD of Baby Blue offer the chance to do just that. Featuring two songs recorded whilst on their British tour, Hurricane Heart Attack and Inside Outside the former featuring a guest appearance from ex-Spaceman 3 front man and kindred spirit Sonic Boom and both capturing The Warlocks awesome live assault. The more reflective doom-pop of 7" b-side Black & White meanwhile could originally be found as a hidden track on the US only release 'Phoenix EP'
