What you say
No-one has reviewed Your Elbow EP by Le Tetsuo yet.
What we say
This record left our Brian feeling ecstatic.
Le Tetsuo are one of those delightedly frenetic angular 3 pieces
who, when you hear them for the first time, have you wanting to do cartwheels
across the room in delight. Such is the chaotic, rumbling art school racket
spitting out the speakers. It's taken them 6 years to get a debut vinyl waxing
out into the public realm and oh, what a treat! 6 tracks of kinesis inducing
post punk with riot grllll punka abandon that references the last 20 years of
adrenalised indie rock without being hopelessly derivative. It's like the
caustic vibe of early Help She Can't Swim, Young Knives, Bikini Kill &
Pixies all condensed into a spine tingling flurry of manic, breathless raw
energy. This band just demand a mosh pit, even at home because this 10" has
all the hallmarks of a classic alt rock debut, each tune hurling itself at your
jugular with nihilistic, tuneful abandon. The production is pure &
thrilling, capturing the coiled energy perfectly. Oh and the hooks. Some of them
may be a tiny bit familiar because they only use the very best in the game. It's
all over in less than quarter of an hour leaving you panting for more and it
makes me feel teenagery again! SOTW, hands down. And it's a white vinyl 10"
so they've upped the stakes in a world dominated by debut 7"s. Howzat!

“They make me feel hot damn sexy yeah!”- Lisa Horton, Bearsuit
Le Tetsuo met at art school in 2002, when it was fashionable to wear plastic grapes around your neck and drink lager through a straw. These things may or may not still be in fashion, but since then this delightful noise-pop riot-boy/grrrl three-piece have gone on to win the largest music competition in the Eastern region, share sell out stages with the likes of Prinzhorn Dance School, Screaming Tea Party, Kaito, PRE and Bearsuit, stun festival audiences in Holland, not to mention the skinny be-jeaned hipsters at last year’s Tales of the Jackalope and all the while enjoying a national radio seal of approval from DJs John Peel (rip), Steve Lamacq, Rob Da Bank and those good people at XFM and Resonance FM. A move to London over a year ago has seen the band grab the attention of countless gig goers, dancing shoes first. All that sweat, applause and yelping has guided them safely into the hands of Parlour Records, for their first release proper.
Parlour Records is the natural furtherance of theparlour club night created by Matthew Bowen and Edward Cotterill. Uprooted from its Sheffield quarters after 3 years of showcasing and cultivating an insurgence of new artists, theparlour decided to make it's way to London in Dec 2005. Over the last two years an exciting reputation has formed. With collaborative hosts XX Teens and an ever growing list of break through acts joining theparlour ranks, a genuine anticipation of what might be next is growing......... PLR01 is released 7th April 2008.
