What the label says:

The eagerly awaited new single from Camden´s finest Captain Black is finally here. Arriving on hot new label Bumpman (The Hawley Arms Pub´s label off-shoot), home also to fellow north London outfit The Brute Chorus, ´Sister´ is sure to further cement Captain Black´s reputation at the front of London´s burgeoning indie-folk scene.

Arriving in London in 2004 they immersed themselves totally in their music and the scene by all moving into a five bed-roomed house in Camden, The heart of music capital London. They quickly engrained themselves in North London´s music scene supporting The Holloways, Good Shoes, Kid Harpoon, Vincent Vincent and The Villains, Babyshambles, Art Brut, Noisettes, The Pigeon Detectives and We Are Scientists

Touted by The News Of The World as ´Ones to Watch´ in 2008 and maintaining support from a host of national dj´s including Colin Murray, Steve Lamacq, Gideon Coe and Claire Sturgess the mainstream appears to be beckoning with the promise of much more treats in store. Live sessions on Life FM and a number 1 indie single in Japan seems to indicate that Britain might not be able to keep them secret for much longer.

About the humble 7":

The humble 7" is the smallest of the vinyl formats (not including the ridiculous 5") and it's the perfect medium for transporting a couple of new songs by up and coming bands straight into your ears. They're fun and they take up less space in your house than something bigger would. They come in a plethora of exciting colours and fantastical packages, and you can fit about 14 minutes onto one 7". You may have to get up every few minutes to put a new record on but think of the exercise. Don't forget every record you buy plays at least 2 speeds (depending on your stereo) and you need to play all records on all speeds to get the maximum joy from your purchase.
