Lord Auch - The Digg Inn/ Grass Fingers

The Digg Inn/ Grass Fingers by Lord Auch

4...according to our on Fri 23 May, 2008.

Lord Auch then. Debut single on Young & Lost Club....called 'The Dig Inn'. I like this.. sounds well early 90's.. reminds me Crime & The City Solution if anyone remembers them. Hints of Nick Cave in there 'n all. Doesn't sound new but I like that about it.... Amazingly it's people from Black Wire who were dreadful. Maybe a band to keep an eye on?

London based three piece Lord Auch, who take their name from Georges Bataille's pseudonym, are set to release their debut single on the Young  and Lost Club label  on the 26th of May 2008.

A double A side release on seven inch vinyl and available to download,  ‘The Dig Inn’ is influenced by Georges Bataille’s  The  Story of the Eye and  is routed in ideas of clandestine societies like the French writer’s Acerphale  society, while flipside, ‘Grassfingers’ grows and rumbles like thunder and shows another perspective to the  band.

Lead singer Simon McCabe  and  Danny Prescott (drums), both formerly of  Black Wire, approached guitarist Liam W who they knew from Leeds and had just completed a tour playing in Courtney Love's band.  Still in their early twenties, Lord Auch played their  first gig at Bardens Boudoir in December 2007 and attracted the attention of the Young and Lost Club, who , that night agreed  to release their debut single. Shortly afterwards they joined the sold out Young and Lost Club tour with Noah and the Whale.

With influences that range from George Bataille to Scott Walker to The Birthday Party and with a sharp, exciting and compelling live show Lord Auch are an atypical new band to be aware of.
