What we say

Rating: happy This record left our Ant feeling happy.

Got two releases for Load fans this week. The first is from Shit And Shine with 'Kuss Mich Meine Liebe' and it's kinda different for them which is refreshing. Well its still a repetitive monster of heavy as fuck druggy noise and hypnotic skull pummeling rhythms. There's even a really brutal fast and harsh speed/ death metal number included for the ladies. I really dig the slamming rhythms that conjure up images of cavemen beating stuff up with rocks. Actually I reckon that captain caveman himself is a core member. See here. The whole thing is pretty mental and twisted which has them fit snugly into the Load roster.

What the label says:

Eight sprawling sonic puddles of Gibby's spittoon soaked puddle juice emerge from the hot flaps of Shit & Shine. Combining a dense percussive chug and a megaphoned fart helmet the band emerges with a sound closest to the neck ache of powerful metallic headbang and the distorted totality of cheap speaker decay. A sound at the crossroads that is sure to arouse the trousers and bra straps of choosy snoozers buying out-sounds and catchy crotch nuggets! With members of TODD and HAMMERHEAD giving S&S real pedigree in bringing the rock stakes! Several S&S records are out on labels like For US, Riot Season, Noisestar (in stock!), and now they are linked to US ska-core label LOAD>!They haave been known to employ up tto 16 seperate drummers and 12 feet(!) of vertical bass amplification, so they are no strangers to erecting long standing brown waves of sound known to induce wild ass humpery and free standing grope-a-thons. Double vinyl is deluxe, in swank metallic gilded sleeve...and only 500 being made....get the drift?? choose the rock...

About the humble LP:

The LP is the daddy of formats. 12" inches of sheer joy. The LP adds to the glory of the 12" record as it can be played at a slower speed (33rpm instead of the usual 45rpm for singles), consequently more musical joy can be had. Played on a decent deck the sound of an LP is about a million times better than any other format. They look fantastic...... a nice gatefold sleeve with a information rich inner sleeve will keep you entertained for hours even before your stylus has chance to make eye contact with it's 12" prey. An essential part of musical heritage which will never be forgotten. It still does play at a multitude of speeds but as it's recorded to be played slower they normally sound ridiculous sped up. Though double albums can make up for this slight inadequacy by ramming more tunes into your ears for your money. Utterly essential.
