Mystery Jets
Two Doors Down

This record left our Clinton feeling happy.
Now that the dad has left there is not much interesting left about the Mystery Jets - look at them looking like a bunch of utter twats on the sleeve. Their new single 'Two Doors Down' is so '80's it might aswell wear a pair of elasticated jeans. It sounds like all those mid 80's bands who abandoned their indie roots to go for mainstream success and totally kill their career in the process. The Farmers Boys and Modern Romance spring to mind - it even has the obligatory sax solo. Its catchy though so it should get them a place on 'saturday Superstore'. Be prepared to see this in a few years time on Channel 4's '"When we thought it was cool to sound like someone semi-forgettable from the '80's" along side The Feeling, Royworld and Captain.

OVERVIEW: ‘Mystery Jets have made one of this year’s biggest, most unashamed pop hits. It’s called ‘Two Doors Down’. It will be massive.’ – NME. Mystery Jets’ finest pop moment to date is being released as their follow up single to their highly acclaimed second album ‘Twenty One’. What better way to welcome in the summer than with this track from one the UK’s most talented bunch of young men as they continue to grace us with such sublime, joyous and good old fashioned pop songs as this. The B-side to the 7" of Two Doors Down is an inspired cover of Aztec Camera’s smash ‘Somewhere In My Heart’ advancing on those 80’s inspired influences apparent throughout ‘Twenty One’.
