Florence and the Machine now on Moshi Moshi, no idea what said machine is though.. Maybe a blender or a portable battery-powered bidet, I dunno. To be honest I'm going backwards and forwards between thinking this is horrible to wondering if it's maybe just me being harsh, it's really not my cup of tea at all but I'm trying damn it, I'm trying. I can't help thinking that it's trying a bit too hard to be quirky with the lyrics and the lightly histrionic vocals but the music's decent enough, particularly on the lead track which gets a bit raucous like Diet Yeah Yeah Yeahs or summat. Like the cover though, I'm a sucker for purple!TRACKLISTING: A. Kiss With A Fist B. Hosptial Beds

Dazed
& Confused 'With a voice so hauntingly captivating you can feel it
in your stomach, the skinny south Londoner and her trusted musical
machine make some seriously beautiful noise.'
Observer Review 'She's
blessed with an astonishingly expressive voice, which can quickly
switch from haunting whisper to harridan shriek.'
Crowned NME's
number 1 best new act of SXSW after a typically jawdropping live
performance on BBC 3's Introducing stage, Florence And The Machine's
debut single on Moshi Moshi is set to confirm 21 year old Florence
Welch's status as one of the hottest new talents in British music today.
Armed
with a songbook bursting with a surreal selection of darkly romantic
murder ballads, and blessed with a voice that seems to channel the
spirits of Patti Smith, Kate Bush and Bjork through one slight
Camberwell art student, Florence was first spotted 18 months ago by her
manager singing in the toilets at a party and since then has been
wowing audiences across London with a life-affirmingly joyous stage
presence that belies the dark voodoo at the heart of her songs.
Produced
by ex Pulp guitarist and MIA producer Steve Mackey, her single 'Kiss
With A Fist' is the latest stunning debut release from the label that
been so kind as to have introduce us to such artists as Kate Nash, Late
of The Pier, Lykke Li and Friendly Fires amongst many more.
Appearing
on the same SXSW bill as MGMT has led to Florence taking the coveted
support slot on the MGMT's European tour this May.

So she looks like Kate Nash, she dresses like Kate Nash but does she sound like Kate Nash? Only as soon as she ditches lyrics about setting fire to your ex's bed and beating him up in a blues drenched, wail that will have Kate running all the way back to Croydon!
