Hailing from Arkansas USA, Kyle Reidy's project MAR's first album was recorded in Iceland on the invitation of Sigur Ros, and featured Jimmy LaValle of The Album Leaf and Samuli Kosminen of Múm. MAR's new record 'The Sound' was recorded in a 3-level cabin called Peace Mountain Lodge located in the middle of The Ozark Mountains!. With a completely new band at his side, 'The Sound' was produced by Iceland's Flex Arnason, who has worked with Worm Is Green, Quarashi, and others. Also featured on the album are violinist Anton Patzner (Bright Eyes) and cellist Zoe Keating (Imogen Heap, Rasputina). Their heavy string arrangements add to the intensity of this record. A drowsy drifting affair with whispery male vocals and shimmery strings, but this time with more weight. Serene and lovely! Recommended to fans of Múm, Sigur Ros, Elbow.
