2tokiislands (Emmanuel Celestin & Sylvain Beorchia) have a cool CD out on the reliable Plague Recordings. 'Ambient Improvisations -18.04.04' is a brooding, rumbling dark ambient soundscape that evolves wonderfully. The low end drones are punctured by electronic pulses and as the sounds are subtlety tweaked the tracks run into one another and each one evolves from the previous one. There's a very slight hint at distant melodies and smothered dub effects. Great night time listening that makes me want to put this on headphones and weave a cocoon around myself... Did anyone catch that show on TV this week that was a documentary about a woman kidnapped in the US and made to live in a box for like 7 years. That was some of the most terrifying shit I ever saw... This CD is great by the way.

Performed by Sylvain Beorchia & Emmanuel Célestin. First official album under the 2tokiislands moniker. Ambient Improvisations - 18.04.04 consist of one long ultra-ambient piece. This psychonautic session was improvised and recorded on April 18th, 2004.
